As a Diesel Mechanic A, you will perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on waste‑pro’s fleet of heavy‑duty refuse vehicles, including Mack;
Peterbilt;
Freightliner;
Autocar;
Heil;
McNeilus; diesel, CNG, LPG, and hybrid‑powered vehicles.

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drive trains, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, fuel systems, and emissions components
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software and onboard computer systems
• Complete repairs using factory service manuals and manufacturer specifications
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed
• Mentor and assist other technicians
• Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow OSHA regulations and Waste Pro safety standards
• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to maximize fleet uptime

• 3‑5+ years of heavy‑duty diesel repair experience
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience repairing Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, steering, drive trains, and emissions systems
• Welding and fabrication experience (preferred)
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and repair documentation
• A strong commitment to safety and OSHA compliance
• The ability to obtain seven ASE Certifications (or equivalent) within 36 months

• CDL Class B preferred
• Candidates without a CDL must be able to obtain one within company guidelines

• Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.

• Physically able to push and pull 50 pounds unassisted.
• Physically able to frequently (100‑200 times) bend at the knees and waist.
• Physically able to frequently (100‑200 times) reach over your head or reach out with extended arms to perform work.
• Physically able to frequently (100‑200 times) twist at the waist to perform work.
• Physically able to work in extreme temperatures and weather environments (road calls).

• Normal setting for this job: inside and outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
