Qualifications
Education and Experience
* High school diploma/GED and an additional six (6) months of advanced study or technical training in electrical/electronic technology.
* Four (4) years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
Licenses or Certifications
* Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida CDL B driver's license within six (6) months of hire or promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installs, maintains, and repairs lighting systems, panel boards, motors, motor controls, transformers, relays, contractors, timers, computer drives, conduit, feeder wires and electrical service equipment at all City facilities.
* Inspects and tests electrical wiring systems, fixtures, motors, generators, transformers and related equipment and components for City property.
* Maintains City-owned streetlights, and power/lighting systems in ball fields, pedestrian bridges, public parks and other outdoor City property.
* Establishes schedules and performs preventative maintenance duties all electrical systems, generators, locks and facilities.
* Complies with all OSHA safety standards, personal protective equipment, and City safety regulations. Attends monthly safety meetings/training.
* Performs other related duties as required.
