Intensive English Programs (IEP)

Position Summary:

The Intensive English Programs (IEP) accepts applications to establish a pool of individuals to teach specific English Language classes. These positions are part-time and contracted on a course-by-course basis as needed. New IEP sessions begin each January, March, June, August, and October.

Southeast's Intensive English Programs are accredited by the Council for English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and offer credit-bearing coursework in English for Academic Purposes. We teach all language skills at CEFR levels A1-C1. Most courses meet for 8-week sessions, but some meet for full 16-week semesters.

Responsibilities:

* Teach students learning English as an additional language in IEP courses; classes may be assigned at various levels and skills

* Plan, develop, and implement instruction according to program guidelines

* Plan, develop, implement, and report assessments according to program guidelines

* Contribute to a learning environment that values and promotes diverse languages and cultures

* Maintain scheduled office hours

* Attend meetings and engage in curriculum and program development, as well as accreditation processes

* Master's in TESOL/TEFL or a closely related field (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/ government certified university.)

* Demonstrated ability to teach assigned courses at the university level

* Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office applications

* Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community

* Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
