ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & PURCHASING SPECIALIST – Purchasing and Accounts Payable Department. Full Time (2 positions available).
Primary Responsibilities
- Processes campus fixed assets forms, maintains fixed assets records, and conducts campus annual inventory reporting
- Reviews vendor invoices and payment vouchers for compliance and data entry into automated system
- Processes purchase requisitions and utilizes automated system to produce and process purchase orders
- Assists with Purchasing Card program processing
- Organizes and maintains electronic and paper documentation and files
- Communicates with University departments and vendors concerning inquiries and discrepancies
- Answers phone calls, responds to email messages, and processes checks and mail
- Provides general clerical support and assistance on other projects for the department
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience with web-based applications, preferably purchasing or accounting system
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrated evidence of math skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile data
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to customer service
