The Department of Mass Media, Art and Design invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Promotional and Digital Media Management. This is a tenure-track position. Successful candidates will have experience in the best practices in digital communication and promotional media. The professor must be able to teach and develop students in the areas of strategy and message development, social media analytics, content creation, and research insights.
The candidate will teach a load equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester to teach students and collaborate with faculty and staff. Additional responsibilities include student mentoring and participation in recruitment and retention activities.
The Department of Mass Media, Art and Design is a part of the Holland College of Arts and Media and one of only two Missouri programs accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.
- Ph.D. in advertising, public relations, media management, or a closely related field. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government-certified university)
- Demonstrated ability to teach skills in the Advertising,Public Relations,and/or Media Management curriculums.
- Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at the college/university level.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly work (i.e., research and/or publications).
- Experience using and/or teaching the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience,interest, and commitment to working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
