Drury Southwest, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our team, specializing in building construction. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, analyzing, and overseeing electrical system installation in commercial, institutional, or residential construction projects. You will collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to deliver code‑compliant and energy‑efficient electrical systems.
This position will report to the Vice President of Construction Management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for new building construction and renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data/communication, and emergency systems.
- Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and arc flash studies.
- Work with designers to prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications, using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM software.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, IBC), energy standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation and resolve field issues.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and participate in project meetings.
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities.
- Stamp and seal engineering documents as the Engineer of Record.
- Stay up to date with new technologies, materials, and regulatory changes in the field.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; must be in good standing.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering for building construction.
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, ASHRAE, and local building codes.
- Strong project management, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
