Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. The Cape Girardeau region has diverse industry sectors within a 40-mile labor force radius and a supportive regional economy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for the assigned program, defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university in Art, Music, Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline required.
• Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Licensure: Certification in areas of art, music, fitness activities, recreation, or CTRS.
• Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care. Completion of all daily job functions and compliance with all regulatory standards.
