A. Hudak Treatment Center Overview
The John A Hudak Treatment Center is a new 24/7 Diversion Bed Program that offers an alternative for individuals at risk of hospitalization, allowing them to stabilize while remaining in the community. The primary goals of the program are to restore individuals in non‑emergency crisis to their previous level of functioning, prevent trauma associated with readmission to an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and enable individuals to resume independent living as soon as possible.
Division beds can also be used to help transition individuals back into the community after hospitalization by providing short‑term supervised support.
- Needs oversight for safety, but not actively suicidal;
- Needs temporary stabilization due to exacerbation of symptoms;
- Needs respite from real or imagined stressors at home or in the community;
- Medication non‑compliant but willing to take medication as prescribed if admitted; and,
- Self‑care is significantly impaired.
