Our client, a leading plastics manufacturer of packaging, custom sheet, and roll-stock for medical, food, aerospace, and other industries, is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician. With manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and over 1,300 employees, they hold over 7% of their market share and are a one-stop-shop for plastic material specifications.
This role is for a dedicated professional to join their maintenance team, focusing on preventative and corrective maintenance for manufacturing machinery. You'll engage in both mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting, navigating complex schematics and blueprints to ensure operational efficiency.
This location is hiring for any of their 3 shifts but will most likely start on 2nd (2:45 PM to 11 PM) or 3rd shift (10:45 PM to 7 AM).
Key Responsibilities:- Proactive Troubleshooting & Repair: Minimize downtime by independently troubleshooting mechanical and electrical devices, dismantling, examining, and repairing or replacing defective parts.
- System Installation & Repair: Install new, or repair and modify existing electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Blueprint & Schematic Navigation: Utilize electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints for effective planning and troubleshooting.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate various shop machinery (drill press, grinders, welders, etc.) and perform repairs using hand and pneumatic tools. You'll also understand and repair steam systems and monitor boiler operations.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting and planning.
- Adept at comprehending and communicating written and oral instructions, including safety rules and detailed operational manuals.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems
, encompassing gearboxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, and AC/DC drive troubleshooting.
