Duties

The Women's Health/Gynecology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering competent, evidence-based women's health care to assigned patients. This nurse provides leadership within the clinical team for the interdisciplinary management of patients with complex gynecological needs and can identify primary sources of patient issues based on their knowledge and experience with gynecology patients. They offer patient-specific women's health education to patients and their families regarding routine and complex gynecology procedures.

The nurse assists in guiding the development of nursing education, orientation, competencies, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives and outcomes analysis.

This role demonstrates leadership in delivering and enhancing holistic care through collaborative efforts with team members. The nurse regularly evaluates practice based on the latest evidence. They lead clinical support groups utilizing evidence-based quality improvement strategies related to gynecology care and outcome measurement. The nurse contributes a professional nursing perspective in interdisciplinary team discussions and supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to ensure safe, high-quality women's health nursing care.

They share educational insights, experiences, and ideas with peers and actively question clinical practices to ensure the provision of evidence-based women's health care. The nurse participates in initiatives and strategies aimed at maintaining and advancing evidence-based practice. They perform a broad range of clinical, administrative, programmatic, and technical functions within specialty care, including data entry and analysis to ensure performance metrics exceed benchmarks.

Additionally, they provide training to promote adherence to processes essential for delivering quality care and utilize databases and tracking tools to monitor quality indicators and care outcomes.

Preferred Experience: Two to three years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus on women's health.
