Position Summary

Scheduled Hours 40. Nash Pediatrics is seeking an experienced full-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our busy pediatric practice in North St. Louis. The clinic operates 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM Friday, with no travel or weekend requirements.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care: obtaining patient history; performing assessment via observation, interview and examination; ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies; performing preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care; providing direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions.
  • Develops and implements patient‑centered plans of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient’s condition.
  • Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; may perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations.
  • May bill for services covered by a collaborative practice agreement.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers regarding preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records; maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards.
  • Provides management services for clinical research study projects; monitors participating subjects, including medication administration and family/patient education.
  • Works in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Regularly participates in continuous quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on the goal of providing exceptional, evidence‑based patient care.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings and workshops.

Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    M.S.N. – Master Of Science In Nursing – Nurse Practitioner.
  • Certifications/Professional Licenses:
    Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and Missouri Division of Professional Registration;
    Basic Life Support – American Heart Association and American Red Cross;
    Certified Nurse Practitioner – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
  • Work Experience:

    No specific work experience required for this position.
  • APN licensure or ability to obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification (online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient).
