Infection Control / Nurse Educator
The Infection Control / Nurse Educator is a registered nurse responsible for coordinating the activities of the infection control program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education for the hospital staff. The IC Nurse is also responsible for nursing staff education and training, and for the employee health compliance program. The IC Nurse also functions as the nursing educator and is responsible for assisting the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/LPN/CNA/MHT staff required training.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; MSN psychiatric/mental health nursing preferred, credentialing by ANCC. - Experience:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility. 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity at unit-based level preferred. Preferred 2 years' experience in acute medical nursing care environment. - Licensure:
Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in Missouri. Preferred certification in infection prevention/control (CIC) or will obtain certification within two years of employment. - Additional Requirements:
A thorough knowledge of TJC, Medicare, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards.
