, operates and maintains a communication network consisting of 8,000 miles of fiber‑optic cable providing network telecommunications in every county of Missouri serving educational, medical, government, and banking institutions. Sho-Me is fully committed to providing safe, reliable and affordable services to our members.
- 6 Months:
Gains familiarity with Sho-Me’s telecommunications and fiber systems including knowledge of equipment and fiber locations. - 1 Year:
Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and plans in the installation, cabling, splicing, testing, maintenance and trouble‑shooting of the system. Demonstrates the ability to perform AC and Generator Set Maintenance. - 4 Years:
Successfully completes the Fiber Optic Association Certified Fiber Optics Examination. Able to assume all of the duties and responsibilities of a journeyman.
