Recovery Support Specialist​/Coach

Location:

Cape Girardeau, MOFull Time Pay: $16.42 - $18.82 per hour (Depending on experience)

Hours:

Standard schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pmMust be open to start time between 7:00am - 8:00am (8-hour shifts)
Schedule may vary to align with school programming and student needs

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must obtain Certified Peer Support (CPS) and Missouri Recovery Support Specialist (MRSS) credentials.

Must self - identify as being in recovery from a co - occurring and/or substance use disorder to effectively model and support clients.

Must demonstrate stability in recovery, with a minimum of two (2) years in sustained recovery.

Must hold Valid Driver's License (Class E for Missouri or Class D for IL Residents
- Obtain on start date) and current continuous auto insurance.

Job Summary:

Responsible to support students enrolled in a recovery high school program by promoting academic success, emotional wellness, and sustained recovery from substance use. Works collaboratively with Recovery High School Therapist, school personnel, families, and community partners to ensure a holistic, trauma-informed approach to student success.

Job Duties:

Share their lived experience with co-occurring &/or substance use and their own personal recovery experience; when applicable.

Promote the idea and concept of recovery and serve as role model.

Interact directly with students, both individually and as a group.

Maintain positive attitude toward agency, school and students.

Help students create and follow tailored recovery plans that include triggers and setting personal goals. Teach students essential skills such as stress management, emotional regulation, and effective communication.

Help students in developing support systems and connect with peer support/self-help groups.

Assist students in developing self-care skills to promote recovery (i.e., self-advocacy, coping, social, etc.).Assist staff to understand recovery, the importance of recovery-based services and the value of the experience lived by individuals with co-occurring or substance use.

Participate as a member of the clinical team.

Responsible for transporting clients in agency and/or personal vehicle as deemed necessary and appropriate to meet program requirements.

Provide students' point of view at team meetings and treatment planning meetings.

Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and any other federal or state program per agency standards. Our Benefits:
