ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL OFFICER (If applied under UWM 74/25 must not re-apply)

Requirements
  • Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably a National Diploma or B-Degree in Project Management, Operations Management, Environmental Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years’ relevant experience in project administration, programme support, or waste management operations is essential.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • SAP or similar enterprise systems (advantageous).
  • Waste Management experience is essential.
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
  • Provide professional and administrative support in planning, coordinating, and monitoring Cleansing Branch projects and programmes.
  • Assist with developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and performance tracking documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project and programme data on SAP and related systems.
  • Collate information and prepare reports, submissions, and compliance documentation.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with waste management licences and operational standards.
  • Participate in various statutory committees established by the city as well as the operational and bid committees related to the Cleansing Projects.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess efficiency, contractor performance, and service delivery.
  • Facilitate minor projects and assist in improving Cleansing Operations systems and processes.
  • Assist with procurement, expenditure monitoring, and Cleansing Branch financial stats capturing in line with SCM and MFMA requirements.
  • Compile and analyse operational and statistical data to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate meetings, correspondence, and stakeholder
