Job Purpose
To maintain continuity in the administration of postgraduate bursaries and scholarships during the temporary absence of the incumbent, including application processing, award administration, record keeping, stakeholder support and reporting.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A National Diploma in Office Management & Technology or Finance qualification
- At least 4 years' relevant experience working in postgraduate student administration
- Knowledge of postgraduate admission and registration processes within higher education
- Knowledge of the bursary processes of the National Research Foundation
- Administer postgraduate bursary and scholarship applications, awards and related documentation.
- Verify applicant information and supporting documents against applicable funding rules and institutional requirements.
- Coordinate award acceptance, payment and related processes with students, faculties, funders and relevant support departments.
- Maintain accurate bursary records, databases and supporting documentation.
- Monitor allocations and payments, support reconciliations and follow up on outstanding matters.
- Prepare bursary reports and management information within required deadlines.
- Respond to student and stakeholder queries and provide clear guidance on bursary processes.
- Ensure proper handover and continuity at the end of the fixed-term appointment.
