Position Overview:

The Business Development & Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence and strengthening client relationships for Flex Wind South Africa. This role requires a strategic and results-driven professional with strong negotiation, commercial and leadership skills.

The position involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, overseeing the full sales cycle, and managing key client accounts while ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Strategy

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand Flex Wind South Africa’s footprint in the renewable energy sector in Africa. presence.
  • Conduct market research to assess industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs.
  • Design and implement strategic business growth plans aligned with market revenue and profitability targets.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships and alliances to strengthen market positioning.

Sales & Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Manage the full sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing high-value deals.
  • Negotiate, structure and secure contracts to maximise customer satisfaction and company value.
  • Provide executives with accurate forecasts, reports and market insights.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal and external teams, (projects, operations, finance and HR), to align sales strategies with company goals.
  • Promote effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across departments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial management within renewable energy.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and business expansion.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing, and risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy, particularly wind turbine installation projects.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Proven sales, negotiation, and networking expertise in renewable energy.
  • Experience designing and executing business growth strategies.
  • Financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to assess project profitability.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and client relationship abilities.
