Junior Graphic Designer

This is an opportunity to join the marketing team of the leading pet care retail company in South Africa. You would be joining a very ambitious, highly productive team with very high standards and a great deal of passion and energy for the work that they do.

This position requires a candidate with exceptional design skills, a good understanding across a range of programmes, excellent creativity and creative problem‑solving abilities, with experience across print and digital design.

You will report to and assist the Senior Graphic Designer but liaise with various individuals and departments in the company.

DTP and layout across print and digital

• Social media artwork
• Web banners
• Mailer banners
• Company stationery
• Company presentations
• Flyers
• Posters
• Vouchers

Imagery and photography

• Basic photography skills / understanding
• Resizing images for various uses
• Basic touching up or editing images
• Sourcing images

Video creation

• Basic video creation and editing (gifs/MP4's)

Brand guidelines

• Ability to interpret and execute according to brand guidelines
• Ensure all artwork is created according to brand guidelines

• Qualification (minimum national diploma) in Graphic Design
• Minimum 2 years full-time working experience in a similar role
• Experience in the following programmes:
  • Essential:
    Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Basic:
    Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Other/optional:
    Canva, Capcut
• Experience in DTP and layout across print and digital
• Experience dealing with printers
