Tax Compliance Manager

Oversee the company’s tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions, managing a team of two, preparing and reviewing tax returns, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations.

• Review and ensure accuracy of tax returns, filings, and declarations for corporate income, gaming, indirect, withholding, and payroll taxes within statutory deadlines.
• Manage tax compliance calendars, track deliverables, and maintain accountability for on-time completion.
• Collect, validate, and reconcile financial and transactional data against tax returns, financial statements, and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinate with local finance teams and external tax advisors, providing guidance and ensuring timely information flow.
• Assist the Tax Director in tax audits, reviews, and authority queries.
• Apply the group’s Tax Governance Framework, internal controls, and approval processes, identifying and escalating data issues, control gaps, and risks.
• Support tax reporting by reviewing CGU tax calculations, explaining adjustments, and ensuring alignment with returns, provisions, and financial statements.
• Stay informed of relevant legislation and update templates, trackers, and working practices as required.
• Manage relationships with external advisors to support compliance preparation and review, handling documentation exchange.
• Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes, workflows, and documentation; contribute to efficiency initiatives.
• Provide support and development to Tax Compliance Specialists and share best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (Honours degree in Tax or Masters in Tax preferred).
• Professional qualification: CA(SA), CPA, CTA, or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of tax compliance experience across various jurisdictions.
• Minimum 5 years of tax compliance management, leading teams of more than three members.
• Experience in a multinational or listed company environment.
• Strong knowledge of tax legislation, OECD guidelines, BEPS initiatives (including Pillar Two).
• Knowledge of tax accounting/reporting in line with IFRS (IAS 12).
• Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to operate in a complex, multi‑jurisdictional environment.
• Strong analytical, governance, and risk management capabilities.
• High level of integrity and professional judgement.

• Experience with Business Central/Navision, Microsoft TM1, or similar accounting software.
• Experience with Thomson Reuters Orbitax or OTP tax software.
