Role OverviewAs a Tax Compliance Specialist | International, you will deliver a world‑class tax compliance function, executing day‑to‑day tax compliance activities across various tax types and jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely filing in alignment with applicable tax laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare tax returns, declarations, and supporting schedules for corporate income tax, provisional taxes, gaming taxes, indirect taxes (VAT/GST, sales tax), withholding taxes, and payroll‑related taxes.
- Collect, organize, and format financial and transactional data for tax calculations and filings.
- Perform reconciliations between tax returns and financial records, validate data, investigate discrepancies, and raise issues to the Tax Compliance Manager.
- Support the management of tax compliance timelines, track submission status, complete and maintain tax compliance registers.
- Maintain audit‑ready tax files, working papers, and supporting documentation in compliance with SOX and internal standards.
- Compile supporting schedules and documentation for audits and respond to tax authority requests.
- Execute tax governance framework, apply controls, and identify/control issues or risks.
- Assist external tax advisors with information requests and maintain logs of responses.
- Collaborate closely with the Tax Compliance Manager, International Tax Analyst, other specialists, and finance teams to share knowledge and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Honours degree in Tax or Master’s degree in Tax is advantageous.
- Professional qualification CA(SA), CPA, CTA, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax reporting.
- Experience in a multinational and/or listed company covering jurisdictions across Europe, UK, NZ, Canada, and Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of tax legislation, OECD guidelines, BEPS initiatives, and tax accounting under IFRS (IAS 12).
- Ability to operate in a complex, multi‑jurisdictional environment with strong analytical, governance, and risk‑management skills.
- High level of integrity, professional judgment, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Business Central, Microsoft TM1, and tax software such as Thomson Reuters Orbitax/OTP is desirable.
- Experience with accounting and reporting software (Business Central/Navision, Microsoft TM1).
- Experience with tax software (Thomson Reuters Orbitax, OTP).
