2 Years) About this role
The Associate will be the dedicated project lead on the assigned construction projects and will be supported by the Portfolio Manager. The Associate will conduct daily management of full project operations including construction oversight, technical, financial, regulatory and contractual management. There will be a strong focus on financial modelling, monitoring and forecasting of project returns, risk management as well as managing all reporting obligations across the assigned construction projects within Mulilo’s portfolio.
The Associate is responsible for SPV BoD and Lender reporting and engagement.
- Manage the assigned projects on behalf of the project SPV’s Board of Directors, including oversight & engagement with all counter parties (Construction Management, ED Service Providers, Offtaker, Regulators etc).
- Manage day-to-day operations – ensure all project activities are aligned to all obligations including OHSA and Mulilo HSE and ESG requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with project financing agreements, monitoring, analyzing and assessing all payments of the plant against the financial model and approved budgets.
- Lender's engagement and management.
- Manage all facility drawdowns, and manage all hedging instruments including FEC and IRS.
- Engage with LTA on reviews and monitor close-out of action points.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Lenders, Shareholders and Offtakers as required.
- Deliver monthly SPV BoD meeting pack, host and facilitate the meeting, and close out actions based on decisions taken by BoD.
- Insurance management and renewals.
- Maintain the financial model, including monthly updating and analysis.
- Utilize financial models to assess trends, forecast performance & analyze project performance.
- Use tools like Excel & PowerBI to analyze, visualize data and provide management recommendations.
- Manage dashboards to track real-time financial and operational performance.
- Make recommendations to the Asset Management Team using data analytics.
- Create presentations and perform ad‑hoc analysis.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis on plant improvement or risk mitigation recommendations.
- University Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Science or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power BI will be beneficial).
- Excellent PowerPoint skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
- More than 5 years of working experience in related fields such as Engineering, Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Project finance.
- Experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Knowledge and experience of the operations of utility-scale PV, BESS and wind facilities.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic and problem‑solving ability.
- Contract management experience.
- Strong communication skills with excellent stakeholder management skills.
The ideal candidate would have a passion for the Renewable Energy sector and personality traits that include a high level of diligence, determination, resilience, and agility.
Additional Information- Able to work overtime according to operational needs.
- The position is based at the offices of the company, but travel may be required occasionally.
