Group Financial Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting:
  Manage the monthly accounting cycle, review management accounts, ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
  Lead the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecast updates, providing detailed analysis on material variances to support management decision-making.
• Treasury & Cash Flow:
  Monitor daily liquidity requirements, manage banking relationships, and prepare funding and covenant reporting for lenders.
• Compliance & Governance:
  Ensure strict adherence to the Companies Act, SARS requirements (VAT, Income Tax, Provisional Tax), and industry-specific regulatory reporting.
• Team Leadership:
  Manage, mentor, and develop a finance team, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met and work quality is maintained.
• Operational Finance:
  Oversee creditors, payment runs, debtors collections, and fixed asset accounting, with a specific focus on finance lease and rental asset accounting.
• Audit Management:
  Coordinate annual external audits and ensure all statutory submissions are completed timeously.
• Process Improvement:
  Identify and implement opportunities to enhance financial controls, processes, and reporting efficiencies.

• Qualifications:
  
  BCom Accounting or an equivalent degree is essential. A CA(SA), CIMA, or SAIPA qualification is highly advantageous.
• Experience:
  
  5 to 8 years of total finance experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a Financial Manager or similar leadership role.
• Team Management:
  Proven experience managing a small to medium-sized finance team.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting knowledge are required, including experience preparing full management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Industry Knowledge:
  Prior experience in asset finance, leasing, rental businesses, or broader financial services is strongly preferred.
