Financial Accountant | Luxury Lodge Group Head Office | Cape Town
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join the head office team of a leading luxury lodge group in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional with strong accounting experience and previous exposure to supervising or mentoring a finance team. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting and ensuring the smooth running of the group's finance function.

- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting and financial functions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
- Prepare financial reports and management accounts as required.
- Perform bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Monitor financial performance and investigate variances.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial information.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation when required.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team.
- Provide guidance and supervision to finance staff where required.
- Work closely with management and operational teams to provide accurate financial information and support decision-making.
- Relevant Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 3–5 years' relevant financial accounting experience.
- Previous experience mentoring and/or supervising a finance team is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
- Experience with Xero will be advantageous.
- Previous experience within the hospitality industry is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
- Highly analytical and numerically strong.
- Detail-oriented and exceptionally organised.
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable mentoring and developing junior finance team members.
- Able to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Professional; reliable and highly trustworthy.
- Proactive with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commercially aware and able to understand the wider impact of financial decisions.
