Role Description The Private Wealth Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cape Town. The role involves developing and managing a portfolio of high-net-worth and affluent clients, providing tailored offshore wealth and capital management strategies aligned with each client’s objectives and risk profile. Day-to-day activities include conducting financial needs analyses, preparing and presenting investment proposals, monitoring portfolio performance, and adjusting strategies as market conditions and client circumstances evolve.
The Private Wealth Manager will engage in regular client meetings, maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards, and collaborate with internal specialists and external financial institutions to deliver comprehensive solutions. The role also includes identifying new business opportunities, networking within target markets, and contributing to the firm’s reputation for exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial planning, investment analysis, and portfolio management, with the ability to construct and review diversified wealth strategies.
- Proficiency in client relationship management, advisory communication, and negotiation, with a focus on high-net-worth and affluent clients.
- Solid understanding of offshore investments, international financial products, and global markets, including related regulatory and tax considerations.
- Competence in risk assessment, compliance, and ethical conduct, ensuring all advice meets legal and internal governance standards.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, and familiarity with CRM systems and portfolio management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications such as CFP, CFA, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated track record in private wealth management, financial advisory, or investment consulting, preferably within an offshore or international context.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and confidently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performance, client-centric environment, with strong time management and organizational skills.
