Tax Compliance Assistant Manager​/Manager

As a Tax Compliance Assistant Manager/Manager, you will be a key member of the team, being the bridge between senior management, senior and junior staff. You will support the delivery of high-quality tax services to clients by managing tax compliance and advisory engagements, ensuring adherence to the relevant tax laws and regulations, and contributing to the development of junior staff and client relationships.

• Tax Compliance & Advisory
  • Prepare and review corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with South African tax laws (Income Tax Act, VAT Act, etc.).
  • Provide tax advisory services to clients.
  • Handle SARS queries, objections, and appeals.
• Client Management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and managing client portfolios.
• Team Leadership
  • Supervise junior staff and review their work.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.

• BCom in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (required).
• Postgraduate qualification in Tax (e.g., HDip Tax, MCom Tax) is advantageous but not required.
• 3
  -5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in an accounting firm or similar type of industry.
• Registered with relevant tax authorities e.g. SAIT
• Experience with SARS e-Filing and tax clearance processes, as well as objection, appeal and complaints processes.
