We are seeking a Food and Beverage Attendant who is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining hygiene and presentation standards, and ensuring a consistently positive guest experience. This is a hybrid operational role requiring flexibility across bar service, barista duties, and general food and beverage service, in line with Totalstay’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health & Safety requirements, and hospitality industry norms.
WhatYou'll Do
- Beverage Preparation & Service:
Prepare and serve coffee-based beverages, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with Totalstay recipes and service standards. - Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, portion control, and service delivery.
- Provide accurate product knowledge to guests and recommend beverages where appropriate.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service in line with legal requirements and company policy.
- Guest Experience & Conduct:
Greet and interact with guests in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner. - Deliver prompt, courteous, and attentive service at all times.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special orders efficiently, escalating matters to management when required.
- Maintain grooming, uniform, and personal presentation standards in line with Totalstay policy.
- Bar, Coffee Station & Service Area Management:
Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of Bar areas, Coffee stations, Beverage preparation areas, and Guest-facing service areas. - Ensure workstations are fully stocked, clean, and service-ready at the start and end of each shift.
- Follow correct cleaning, sanitising, and closing procedures.
- Inventory & Stock Control:
Monitor stock levels of beverages, coffee, bar items, and consumables. - Report shortages, damages, variances, or equipment issues timeously.
- Assist with stock rotation and wastage control in line with budget and par-level guidelines.
- Prevent loss, breakages, and unnecessary wastage.
- Teamwork & Operational Support:
Support the wider Food & Beverage team during high-volume periods, including breakfast service, peak trading hours, happy hours, and events. - Assist colleagues when occupancy levels or operational demands require additional support.
- Follow all reasonable and lawful instructions from supervisors and management.
- Participate in training sessions, SOP refreshers, and operational briefings.
- Health, Safety & Compliance:
Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety (OHSA) requirements. - Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Use equipment, tools, and chemicals responsibly and according to safety guidelines.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Adhere to fire safety, emergency procedures, and incident reporting protocols.
- Attendance, Timekeeping & Performance:
Adhere to approved rosters, shift times, and clocking procedures. - Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality in line with BCEA and Sectoral Determination 14 (Hospitality).
- Participate in performance discussions, coaching sessions, and operational audits.
- Meet performance expectations and KPIs associated with the role.
- Previous barista or bartending experience preferred
- Strong guest service mindset
- Good communication skills
