HR Executive
Location:
Hybrid (Cape Town / Johannesburg)
Role Purpose
The HR Executive is responsible for setting and driving the people strategy of the organisation. This role focuses on culture, performance, leadership alignment, and governance, ensuring that HR initiatives directly support business strategy, growth, and long-term organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Culture & Organisational Performance
- Shape and embed a high-performance, values-driven organisational culture
- Design and oversee performance management frameworks across the organisation
- Drive KPI strategy and performance accountability across departments
- Partner with executive leadership to enable continuous improvement
HR Strategy, Policies & Governance
- Define HR strategy aligned to business objectives
- Develop and approve HR policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and best-practice standards
- Provide executive-level guidance on complex employee relations matters
Leadership & Stakeholder Advisory
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leadership
- Coach leaders on people strategy, performance, and change management
- Influence leadership behaviours that support culture and accountability
Risk, Compliance & Employee Relations Oversight
- Provide oversight of disciplinary, grievance, and dispute processes
- Manage HR-related risk and ensure fair, consistent outcomes
- Engage external legal and labour advisors when required
HR Insights & Reporting
- Analyse HR metrics, trends, and risks to inform executive decision-making
- Provide strategic HR insights and recommendations to leadership
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an HR Executive, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Leadership role
- Strong strategic understanding of people, performance, and organisational culture
- Deep knowledge of labour legislation and HR governance
- Ability to influence and partner at executive level
Qualifications
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field
- HR professional registration (advantageous)
