HR Manager Job Introduction
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and credible HR professional to join the Computacenter team in South Africa as the HR Manager. Reporting to our Lead HR Business Partner, this is a true generalist role that will see you involved in all operational and strategic elements of HR as well as engaging with in-country senior managers on a regular basis.
You will work closely with your team and line managers, ensuring that you provide first class support and guidance across all elements of the HR spectrum including liaison with the government & Industry affiliations/employee representative groups and 3rd party suppliers.
You will also play a key role in the wider Group HR team which will see you engaging with your HR counter parts across Europe & APAC and working in collaboration to embed and drive group HR initiatives.
Main ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Become the trusted HR advisor to the GM, providing expert guidance on South African labour legislation, governance, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and coach the HR team to deliver high‑quality HR services and support business objectives, implementing performance management interventions when needed.
- Accountable for overall HR budget and ensure alignment with the financial planning, including but not limited to Talent Attraction campaigns, employee benefits, etc.
- Manage the administration of the CC South Africa payroll.
- Position yourself as the situational expert on all HR matters, advising, coaching and guiding the local leadership team ensuring that CC values are understood and embedded.
- Work in close partnership with other Global HR Managers/team members, sharing best practice, leveraging each other’s expertise.
- Act as the main point of contact in ZA for all aspects of HR including operating as the local expert/advisor for implementation of global projects and ensuring compliance with employee relations, employee benefits and engagement surveys.
- Review, update, and communicate local and Global HR policies, ensuring relevance for the location and compliance with South African legislation as well as Employee adoption.
- Deep understand a global HR operating model and leverage the Centre’s of Excellence and drive the shift left of activities that can be done through these teams.
- Ensure that all administrative processes are efficient and fit for purpose and update where required.
- Support the implementation of Group and local Human Resources programs such as performance management, succession planning, talent assessment, development initiatives and benefits.
- Partner with global legal and compliance to drive regulatory requirements and serve as an advisor to Corporate departments not limited to HR on geographic specific information related to global and ZA projects.
- Advise and support managers and employees on local specific regulations (right to work legislation, GDPR compliance) and participate as a representative on Employer representative councils and at employment tribunals and CCMA meetings.
Required Skills:
- Dynamic, positive, people-oriented attitude, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Proven track record as a HR Manager in a fast paced, commercial, dynamic growth environment.
- Proven track record of org redesign.
- HR professional with full generalist capability including but not limited to recruitment, ER, reward, talent management and employee development.
- Strong knowledge of local employment law and up to date understanding of recent legislation
- Exceptional ability to develop strong relationships with all levels.
- Ability to analyse, plan, and project manage
Skills:
- Experience of implementing and maintaining HR processes
- Excellent multitasking & structured problem-solving skills
- Hands-on Human Resources Business partnering experience would be a highly advantageous.
- Experience of working in a Global environment or international work experience
