A dynamic and growing investment company is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The company is committed to delivering disciplined investment solutions and maintaining strong governance standards. This is a full-time, office-based role (Monday to Friday) suited to an LLB graduate or Paralegal graduate looking to build a career within financial services. R25 000 - R35 000 per month.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with external legal practitioners, clients and service providers to ensure clear communication and effective coordination.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and organising legal documentation, including investment management agreements, supplier contracts and related contractual documents.
- Draft addendums and resolutions and manage documentation through internal approval and signature processes.
- Organise and manage contract implementation documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain a contract register, including monitoring key dates and follow-up actions.
- Maintain an accurate and comprehensive contract filing system.
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory obligations.
- Assist with due diligence processes relating to potential investments, acquisitions and partnerships.
- Maintain corporate records, including minute books and statutory documentation for the company and affiliated entities.
- Provide general legal and administrative support, including legal research, preparation of reports and ensuring the accuracy of documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a recognised Certificate/Diploma in Paralegal Studies.
- 2–5 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, preferably within asset management or the financial services industry.
- Sound understanding of legal terminology, principles and contract structures.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Professional discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
