Litigation​/Dispute Resolution Associate

Introduction

An exciting opportunity exists for a Litigation / Dispute Resolution Associate to join a respected law firm in Paarl. Our client is a high-performing, well-established legal practice offering a professional environment where lawyers can thrive through autonomy, client exposure, and high-level litigation work. They are seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with at least 3 - 5 years of post-admission experience to join their Cape Town, Paarl litigation and dispute resolution team

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and conduct commercial litigation matters across all courts, including High Court proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, heads of argument, affidavits, and correspondence in litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Handle administrative law, public law, and constitutional law cases involving government and state entities.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients in both the public and private sectors.
• Engage directly with clients, counsel, and stakeholders, providing practical, high-quality legal solutions.
• Manage multiple cases under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and strategic focus.
• Supervise junior associates and contribute to the growth and mentorship of the litigation department.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• LLB Degree
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• 3 – 5 years post-admission experience
• Proven experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including divorces
• Representing clients in the High Court and Magistrate’s Court, Labour Court and Land Claims Court.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills
• Excellent communication, client management, and interpersonal abilities
• High degree of professional integrity, attention to detail, and ethical conduct
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans is a requirement
