Unit Manager | Cape Town | Permanent

Lead operations that keep everything moving. This is an opportunity to manage a critical warehouse function where precision, performance, and people leadership intersect.

As the Unit Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched efficiently. You’ll be responsible for inventory accuracy, workflow planning, staff supervision, and compliance with company and safety standards. Beyond logistics, you’ll manage the repair and maintenance of vehicles and the facility, ensuring operational readiness at all times.

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and dispatch.
  • Plan and coordinate workflow to meet daily and weekly operational targets.
  • Oversee loading, offloading, and inventory rotation (FIFO).
  • Maintain accurate stock records and investigate discrepancies.
  • Lead and motivate a team across various functions, including dispatch, stores, cleaning, and driving.
  • Manage scheduling, leave, and attendance to ensure consistent coverage.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring all equipment and facilities are maintained.
  • Prepare performance reports and support audits or inspections.
  • Identify process improvements and assist with technology implementation.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of vehicles and warehouse facilities.

What You Bring

  • Grade 12 (Matric) essential;
    Diploma in Logistics/Warehouse Management advantageous.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in warehouse supervision or management, ideally within retail, onboard catering, or inflight service.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with an eye for accuracy and safety.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and inventory systems).
  • Sound knowledge of stock control, warehouse operations, and OHS standards.
  • Organised, results-driven, and adaptable under pressure.
