Sales Manager

Sales Manager (Africa Travel) required in Cape Town.

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager from a luxury tour operator environment who knows Southern and East Africa inside out. This role is for someone who has led a team of consultants, driven revenue, and understands the operational and commercial realities of selling high end African travel.

You will lead a team of around 12 sales consultants, take ownership of performance, and ensure strong conversion, margin control and service excellence. If you have worked for established luxury tour operators, this is the level of experience we are targeting.

This is not a stepping stone role. We need someone who already understands the landscape and can add value from day one.

Salary: R55 000 gross per month.

• Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 12 tour consultants
• Drive monthly revenue and margin targets across Southern and East Africa itineraries
• Monitor conversion rates, booking quality and overall sales performance
• Coach consultants on destination knowledge, product positioning and closing strategy
• Manage KPIs, accountability and performance reviews
• Handle escalated client matters professionally and efficiently
• Work closely with product and operations to maintain competitive offerings
• Oversee forecasting, reporting and pipeline management
• Identify growth opportunities within key source markets

• Diploma in Tourism and Matric is required.
• Proven 5+ Year’s Sales Management experience within a luxury tour operator environment
• Background with recognised luxury tour operators
• Strong destination and product knowledge across Southern and East Africa
• Experience managing a team of 10 to 15 consultants
• Solid commercial understanding of pricing, margins and profitability
• Confident managing high value, tailor made travel sales
• Strong leadership style with the ability to motivate and hold a team accountable
• Based in Cape Town
