Our client, Africa’s largest distributor of industrial engineering and service provider specializing in engineering components, including bearings, seals, and power transmission, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager with a background in the automotive industry to join their team based in the Cape Town CBD. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on leader who is passionate about operational excellence, team development, and delivering exceptional service standards.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse, including inventory management, order fulfilment, and shipping/receiving.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and refine warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times while minimising errors and waste.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and develop strategies to reduce excess inventory and prevent stock‑outs.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Manage and control operational costs within budgetary constraints, identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements within the warehousing environment.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar leadership role
- Automotive industry experience (essential)
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control practices
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant warehouse software systems
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required
