Function Patient services Facility Position Admissions Supervisor Introduction
A vacancy exists for an Admissions Supervisor, based at Life Kingsbury Hospital, reporting to the Patient Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the reception environment to ensure that all patient services and risk management protocols and procedures are complied with and strategic objectives are met by supervising, motivating and supporting direct reports.
Critical Outputs
Ensure effective quality management systems byMonitoring, updating and compiling Q-evaluator scores in order to investigate outcomes for the Process ManagerDriving and sponsoring the Qe programmeDeveloping sound working relationships with internal and external customers in order to provide quality customer careParticipating in and ensuring conformance to QMS audit standardsEnsure optimum operational efficiency byEnsuring pre-administrative functions are performed accurately in accordance with Life standardsEnsuring administrative functions are performed accuratelyManaging bed-booking procedure in accordance with Life standardsManaging the collation and submissions of all COID filesEnsuring the collection of pre-payments in accordance with Life standardsEnsuring effective people management byActively sponsoring initiatives and demonstrate visible leadership skills in order to improve productivity and support changeDeveloping a resourcing plan in order to recruit talented staff in accordance with agreed time periods, taking into account company transformation objectivesProviding direction and inspire positive work behaviourDeveloping and managing training plans for each department in order to facilitate talent developmentManaging performance ratings for all staff through the performance improvement processEnsuring all transactional processing is managed by the relevant department head in order to provide employee compensation and benefitsEnsuring productive working relationships are supported with minimum IR issuesEnsuring all exit interviews are conducted in order to ensure the retention of critical and talented professional staffEnsuring effective patient data and billing processes byEnsuring the admissions clerks utilize the billing process in accordance with Life standards and ensure data is accurateEnsuring effective governance, financial and risk managementEnsuring that all pre-payments and co-payments are collected on admissions in order to effectively manage cash flowManaging operation costs in accordance with the budgetManaging cash handling protocol in terms with LHC policies and proceduresActively participate in achieving hospital DSO targetsEnsuring full compliance to national medical regulationsRequirements
Grade 12Experience with in a healthcare environment including people management and customer service experienceWorking knowledge of funder rules and a general understanding of medical terminologyComprehensive knowledge of admissions proceduresUnderstanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantageBasic understanding of financial principlesComputer proficiency (comprehensive knowledge of SAP IMPILO or relevant software system)Credit Control experienceCompetencies
