Position: Campaign Manager – United Jewish Campaign (UJC)

About The Organisation And The Role

The United Jewish Campaign (UJC) is the fundraising arm of the Cape South African Jewish community, supporting over 40 community organisations. Its “We Are One” campaign, a strategic partnership with Care Services and its 7 member organisations, is a bold, high‑impact crowdfunding initiative designed to unite and mobilise the community around a shared vision of collective responsibility and impact. Building on the success of the past two years, UJC is looking for a Campaign Manager to take the reins of this strategic initiative, leading it to new heights through leadership, coordination, and motivational energy.

With the key event scheduled for 14 August and the crowdfunding campaign running from 19‑21 August, the Mission will be to seamlessly execute marketing, operations, logistics, and fundraising initiatives while inspiring teams and stakeholders across the board.

Main

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Campaign Coordination and Timeline Management
  • Develop and maintain a detailed campaign plan with key milestones and deliverables across all streams
  • Monitor daily progress, flag issues early, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Report on campaign status to senior UJC staff and help coordinate internal planning meetings
  • Marketing Support and Communications Management
  • Coordinate with partner organisations to gather, update, and manage marketing materials and messaging
  • Liaise with vendors and production teams to ensure campaign content is delivered on time (e.g., videos, social media assets)
  • Assist with compiling and presenting pre‑campaign and post‑campaign impact reports.
  • Operations, Logistics, and Event Execution
  • Oversee practical planning for the August campaign event, including venue set‑up, catering, phones, and tech equipment
  • Maintain logistics spreadsheets, manage volunteer rosters, and ensure smooth on‑the‑day coordination.
  • Fundraising Coordination and Donor Support
  • Work with the fundraising committee to support donor engagement efforts
  • Track matching donor commitments and assist with canvassing coordination

    Manage post‑campaign reporting, follow‑ups, and pledge collections.
  • Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster effective collaboration between UJC, campaign partners, and volunteers
  • Provide support and guidance to partner organisations, especially around campaign deliverables like videos and timelines
  • Represent the campaign with warmth, professionalism, and an ability to energise and motivate stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Work experience and industry exposure
  • Proven experience in campaign management, fundraising or event coordination
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and community groups
  • Background in non‑profits, NGOs, or community‑focused initiatives a strong advantage.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Confident leader who can inspire and mobilise others
  • Patient and collaborative, especially when guiding others through content production or campaign involvement
  • Able to manage relationships with donors, volunteers, and partner organisations.
  • Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
  • Highly organised and efficient with excellent time management
  • Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple campaign streams simultaneously
  • Competent in tracking campaign performance and donor data.
  • General tech savvy: comfortable with CRMs, digital tools, and crowdfunding platforms
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Energetic, proactive, and mission‑driven.
Job Features

Location:

Cape Town (in‑office initially with potential for remote work)
Nature of contract:
Fixed‑term, 6 months (May–October 2025)
Hours of work:
Flexible; full‑time and extended hours expected closer to event dates
Salary range:
Negotiable (commensurate with hours, skill and experience)
