Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting for a luxury hotel based in Cape Town. Our client is seeking an experienced Indian Speciality Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and deliver exceptional cuisine to guests.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and menu planning
• Prepare and cook high-quality Indian cuisine according to hotel standards
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring proper techniques and consistency
• Ensure kitchen hygiene, health, and safety standards are strictly maintained
• Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of ingredients
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and specials
• Assist in planning for events, banquets, and special functions
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef, preferably specialising in Indian cuisine
• Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu development
• Knowledge of kitchen operations, hygiene, and safety regulations
• Leadership and team management abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and public holidays
