The Döner / Shawarma Section Assistant is a key member of the Döner/Shawarma team, responsible for executing daily operational tasks within their specific section. This position is vital for ensuring the efficient preparation and service of Döner and Shawarma dishes, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the team in meeting the high-quality standards of The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen. The Assistant’s primary focus is the diligent and accurate completion of all tasks assigned specifically within the Döner/Shawarma area.
Key Responsibilities- Task Execution in the Döner / Shawarma Section
- Follow daily preparation and service schedules and instructions provided by team leaders or the Shop Manager to ensure tasks related to Döner and Shawarma preparation and serving are completed efficiently.
- Assist with the management of daily stock levels of ingredients specific to the Döner/Shawarma section (meat, wraps, vegetables, sauces, etc.) by accurately using components as required for production and reporting any shortages to the team leader or manager.
- Assist with basic quality checks on stock delivered to the Döner/Shawarma area, reporting any obvious issues with ingredients or packaging.
- Ensure that Döner/Shawarma stock and ingredients are safely stored in designated areas, following proper storage procedures (e.g., temperature control for meat, correct sealing).
- Assist team leaders or managers with conducting stock takes of Döner/Shawarma ingredients and finished products by accurately counting and recording items as directed.
- Follow defined product quality standards for Döner and Shawarma items when preparing meat, assembling wraps or plates, and portioning ingredients, ensuring consistency in size, weight, and presentation where applicable.
- Ensure recipes and preparation procedures are followed correctly according to instructions for all Döner/Shawarma items.
- Assist with regular quality checks of Döner/Shawarma ingredients and products during preparation and service as instructed (e.g., checking meat temperature).
- Execute scheduled cleaning tasks meticulously to maintain hygiene standards throughout the Döner/Shawarma production and service area.
- Maintain strict personal hygiene and follow workplace hygiene procedures to prevent contamination in the section.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations relevant to handling and cooking meat and internal company procedures.
- Follow SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) initiatives and objectives within the Döner/Shawarma section, including proper handling of sharp knives, hot equipment (like the grill/spit), and safe disposal of waste.
- Support the Döner/Shawarma team in various daily activities, demonstrating willingness to assist with tasks like preparing vegetables, marinating meat, operating the grill, or serving customers.
- Follow established production policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all Döner/Shawarma tasks, such as meat preparation, cooking times, assembly procedures, and serving techniques.
- Execute operational or production changes as instructed, such as following new recipes or procedures introduced by menu changes specific to the section.
- Previous experience working in a fast-food or restaurant environment is beneficial but not always required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately, particularly related to food preparation and safety.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, especially concerning meat handling, is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions diligently and precisely, especially regarding food preparation and safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and take on diverse tasks in the Döner/Shawarma section.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced service environment.
- Good physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly concerning following recipes, portioning, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities in daily tasks.
