Job Description
Red Ember Recruitment is seeking a General Manager Sales on behalf of our client, based in Gauteng and Cape Town.
This role contributes to refining and enhancing the current and future sales and marketing strategy, while managing and supporting a high-performance team responsible for delivering and executing the company’s sales, marketing, brand, and communications functions.
BRIEF ROLE DESCRIPTION
To refine and enhance the company’s sales and marketing strategy on an ongoing basis, while leading a high-performance team to execute revenue growth, brand positioning, and market expansion initiatives.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)
- Manage a team of sales specialists targeting Cleaning Services, Technical Services, and Bundled Services across key sectors.
- Oversee and draft high-quality proposals, bids, and tender submissions.
- Develop and manage sales budgets aligned to strategy.
- Accountable for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Drive strategic initiatives to grow market share and revenue.
- Develop and implement marketing, brand, and communication strategies.
- Re-appraise and standardize contract costs and margins.
- Oversee branding, marketing collateral, bids, presentations, and communications in collaboration with Marketing.
- Recommend innovative selling techniques based on market analysis.
- Monitor budget spend and highlight variances.
- Track market statistics and react strategically.
- Uphold strong business ethics and company image.
- Identify new growth opportunities by segment.
- Provide monthly and quarterly sales & marketing reports.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Sales, Business Development, or Marketing
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License
Experience
- Minimum 10 Years Solid Experience in Business Development & Sales Leadership
- Strong exposure within the Services Industry preferred

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in chemical engineering or any other related degree. Sales and Marketing qualifications will be an added advantage Experiences Minimum 2 to 3 Years relevant experience in a similar position and specific knowledge gained in Chemical raw material sales Good knowledge of Chemical raw materials of various segments. Proficient in verbal and written English. Skills/ Attributes Target driven and customer centric Strong technical and business acumen.
Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision. Team player to be able to interact in a multi-disciplinary team.
