Business Development Consultant B2B

We are on the hunt for a Business Development Consultant at Outsourced CFO, a role which supports and works with ambitious entrepreneurs and fast‑growing businesses worldwide. This role goes beyond selling, and focuses on building trusted relationships with founders and executives, understanding their challenges, and connecting them to solutions that drive financial clarity and real growth. The individual in this role is responsible for supporting the global growth ambitions of OCFO across our entities in SA, the USA and the UK.

Their core activities are focused on driving revenue growth, from inbound leads and the sales pipeline to converted deals. They will also support our outbound lead generation efforts, Referral Partner Community growth, and help to create new avenues of business for OCFO's service offering by assisting in improving the sales processes, tools and team.

Key Responsibilities Inbound Sales Activities
  • Telephonic and email correspondence with certain inbound leads
  • Following up on inbound leads
  • Client meetings with certain inbound leads
  • Preparing proposals for new clients
  • Building proposals for new clients
  • Updating and maintaining OCFO CRM system
  • Research on the newest business developments and sales techniques, tools and including that in OCFO way of doing things
  • Contributing to top‑line revenue growth, primarily through new business from new clients and supporting outbound and conversion efforts, with the goal of reaching or exceeding sales targets
Outbound Sales Activities
  • Research and development to identify potential new target markets
  • Crafting and generating leads lists
  • Supporting the management of outbound efforts
  • Corresponding and following up with potential clients
  • Client meetings with certain outbound leads
  • Supporting the management and improvements of the tech stack on which outbound lead generation is built
Qualifications & Experience
  • Marketing or Business Management Diploma/Certificate
  • 5 - 8 years experience in Sales and Business Development
  • Proven experience selling to founders, C‑suite executives, or senior decision‑makers – you must be comfortable engaging at an executive level and navigating complex, strategic conversations
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully selling services or other high‑ticket, consultative offerings – this role requires a strong ability to build trust, communicate value, and close meaningful deals
  • Experience selling virtually in a remote or hybrid environment – you must be confident in running virtual discovery sessions and closing deals remotely
Location
  • Cape Town, Hybrid Office structure 2 days per week.
