evaluation and monitoring officer (contract ending 30 june 2026) - (8539)
to provide temporary monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and administrative support within the centre for postgraduate studies during the maternity leave period of the incumbent, ensuring continuity in postgraduate data tracking, postdoctoral administration, bursary management (when required), and institutional reporting processes.
job knowledge, skills and experience- a relevant bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, higher education studies, public policy, development studies, social sciences, or a related field.
- at least two (2) years’ relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, administration, or a related support role.
- experience in a higher education, research, or public sector environment will be an advantage.
- exposure to postgraduate administration, postdoctoral management, or bursary processes will be beneficial.

key performance areas / principal accountabilities- continuity of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting functions within the centre for postgraduate studies during the maternity cover period.
- accurate collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of postgraduate data (including enrolment, progression, completion, postdoctoral, and funding information).
- timely preparation of routine m&e and management reports in line with institutional and external reporting requirements.
- effective maintenance of m&e databases, dashboards, and postgraduate records.
- administrative support for postdoctoral appointments, renewals, and monitoring processes.
- support for bursary administration and reporting, when required, including tracking and reconciliation.
- effective coordination and communication with faculties and central support units to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and deadlines are met.
- proper documentation and handover to ensure continuity at the end of the temporary appointment.
