Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

Our client is looking for a skilled Geophysicist specializing in seismic data interpretation to join their exploration team in Cape Town . You will be responsible for analyzing complex seismic datasets to identify potential hydrocarbon prospects and provide critical insights for exploration and development strategies. • Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to delineate geological structures and identify potential reservoirs.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information for comprehensive subsurface analysis.
• Utilize advanced geophysical software and interpretation techniques to map strati graphic and structural traps.
• Generate high-quality seismic maps, cross-sections, and reports for exploration opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to refine exploration models.
• Contribute to risk assessment and uncertainty analysis for exploration acreage.

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in seismic interpretation for the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and attribute analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to visualize complex geological structures.
• Experience working in or familiar with the Cape Town area is a plus.
