Lead Production Geologist

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Production Geologist to join their exploration and production team based in Cape Town . This senior position requires extensive experience in subsurface interpretation, geological modeling, and the integration of geological data for production optimization. You will play a crucial role in defining drilling targets, managing geological data quality, and providing expert geological support to reservoir engineers and production teams.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving exploration success and enhancing field production efficiency in a collaborative and innovative environment.

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D geological models for field development and production planning.
• Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to identify hydrocarbon reservoirs and optimize drilling trajectories.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to integrate geological insights into dynamic reservoir models.
• Supervise junior geologists and provide technical guidance on geological interpretations and workflows.
• Ensure geological data integrity and manage geological databases and software.
• Contribute to exploration new venture evaluations and prospect generation.

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in exploration and production geology, with a focus on field development.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Geo Graphix) and geological modeling.
• Proven ability to integrate diverse geological datasets and understand reservoir heterogeneities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills essential for a Cape Town based role.
