Entry Level Service Engineer
Location:
Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
Job Description:
The Entry Level Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems and equipment, including IP video management systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and related hardware and software.
We provide full training and support to develop your skills in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our products and systems.
What You Will Do- Assist in the installation and configuration of security systems including IP video management systems, access control systems, alarm systems, and other security-related devices.
- Support integrations for security systems with existing networks and ensure proper connectivity and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and upgrades on security systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and provide on-site support as needed.
- Support senior engineers with diagnosing and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment.
- Complete service reports, documentation, and follow proper escalation procedures.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support under supervision.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve technical problems promptly.
- Build positive working relationships with customers by delivering professional and timely service.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure all installations and services comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all installations and repairs.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical knowledge and career development.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems (through education or hands‑on experience).
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Code B driving licence and own vehicle.
- Ability to travel to customer sites when required.
- Previous internship, apprenticeship, or work experience in a technical field.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools or testing equipment.
- Basic IT/networking knowledge.
- Entry level; full‑time, permanent role.
