Maintenance Foreman; Millwright hands-on maintenance management FMCG​/Food processing environment

Introduction

National FMCG / food processing company in Turffontein, Gauteng requires Maintenance Foreman.

To qualify for the position, you must be trade tested Millwright with 3-5years hands-on maintenance management experience in FMCG / Food processing environment. You will be responsible for the management of the maintenance team, personally attending to breakdowns, planned maintenance and continuous improvement of all equipment. Your will also be responsible for the implementation of preventative maintenance systems, reducing downtime, elimination of repeat plant failure and management of asset care system
-Pragma OnKey CMMS experience essential.

You must be willing to work overtime, weekends and callouts as operationally required. Yoy must have valid South African driver’s licence and own reliable transport to be considered.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Lead the maintenance team with hands-on leadership with electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on all plant maschinery and equipment
• Provide technical leadership in the troubleshooting, diagnoses, repair, and optimisation of equipment.
• Manage the Pragma On Key CMMS system (computerised maintenance management system) with regards to order management, asset history, planning, spare parts tracking, and performance analysis.
• Develop, implement, and maintain planned preventative maintenance programmes and schedules to maximise equipment reliability, minimise unplanned downtime
• Manage all maintenance activities (corrective, preventative and predictive) in alignment with production schedules and production targets
• Conduct root cause analysis on reoccurring breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions
• Manage and control the maintenance budget (including overtime, contractors and consumables)
• Collaborate closely with Production, Technical and Operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and new project installations.
• Perform regular inspections on plant and equipment to identify potential failures and improvement opportunities.
• Manage external contractors and specialised service providers
• Train and upskill maintenance personnel on technical aspects of equipment, fault-finding techniques, and safe working practices.
• Coordinate standby, call-out and after-hours maintenance cover to ensure rapid response to breakdowns outside normal shifts.

Salary / TCTC negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience
