Aircraft Ground Equipment; GSE) Mechanic

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to maintain their fleet of essential ground equipment in Upington . This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all ground support machinery used in aircraft handling, such as baggage tractors, tow tractors, belt loaders, and de-icing equipment. You will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of this vital equipment, playing a key part in the smooth functioning of airport operations and upholding safety standards in a fast-paced aviation environment.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and servicing on various GSE.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on GSE.
• Operate diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and time expended.
• Ensure all GSE repairs and maintenance comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, with specific experience in maintaining Ground Support Equipment (GSE) or heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and performing repairs on diverse equipment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as operational needs dictate.
