Excavator Operator - Night Shift

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Excavator Operator to operate a 20-ton JCB excavator fitted with a grab attachment
. The successful candidate must be competent in operating heavy earthmoving equipment and have the required SITA-registered certification
.

Job Location: Cape Town

• SITA-registered Excavator Operator Certificate – ESSENTIAL

• Proven experience operating 20-ton excavators

• Experience operating JCB excavators preferred

• Experience using a grab attachment is essential/preferred

• Previous experience in heavy equipment, construction, earthmoving, waste management, recycling or similar environment

• Good understanding of excavator safety procedures and operating protocols

• Ability to conduct daily pre-start inspections and identify mechanical/safety issues

• Valid medical fitness certificate, where required

• Reliable transport and willingness to work night shift only (18H00 – 06:00)

• Good communication skills

• Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently

• Safely operate a 20T JCB excavator with grab attachment

• Load, move and handle materials as required

• Perform excavator operations efficiently and accurately

• Complete daily equipment inspections and pre-start checks

• Report mechanical faults, damage or safety concerns immediately

• Ensure safe positioning and operation of the excavator

• Maintain the machine and work area in a clean and safe condition

• Follow all company health and safety procedures

• Work effectively during night-shift operations

• Adhere to production targets and operational instructions
