Apprentice Lift Technician

As a Trainee Technician at Lifta SA, you will be required to assist with and develop competency in the following areas:

• Installation of Home Lifts and Stairlifts
• Ensuring all required parts and equipment are packed and prepared for installations
• Attending to call-outs for Home Lifts and Stairlifts
• Installing and testing electrical systems associated with Home Lifts and Stairlifts
• Servicing and maintaining mechanical and electrical components
• Repairing or replacing system parts where required
• Oiling and greasing moving components
• Carrying out safety checks on Home Lifts and Stairlifts
• Maintaining stock and escalating supply issues where necessary
• Maintaining a clean and organised working area
• Completing administrative reporting on daily activities
• Providing regular feedback on company work groups and internal communication channels
• Ensuring company uniform is worn and maintained in a clean and professional condition
• Adhering to all health and safety requirements and procedures

We are looking for candidates who have completed, or are completing, a relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and who are ready to start building a hands-on technical career from 18 January 2027.

This is an entry-level position designed for candidates at the beginning of their technical careers. We are looking for ambitious people who are eager to learn, receptive to structured technical training and interested in developing their skills within a motivated and growing national company.

• Completed, or completing in 2026, a relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
• Motivated to build a long-term technical career
• Willing to learn and receptive to comprehensive technical training
• Comfortable working practically and getting hands-on
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Willing and able to travel when required
• Available to commence employment on 18 January 2027

• Starting salary of R8,000 – R10,000 per month, dependent on the candidate’s qualifications, skills and level of proficiency
• Hands-on experience within a specialised technical industry
