Therapist, SLP - Therapist, Capitola, California Key Responsibilities

• - Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
• - Develop individualized treatment plans for communication disorders.
• - Administer therapy services for articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders.
• - Treat swallowing (dysphagia) disorders and eating difficulties.
• - Develop and implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
• - Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• - Consult with physicians, educators, and family members.
• - Educate families about communication disorders.
• - Maintain accurate clinical records.
• - Stay current with evidence-based practices.

• - Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
• - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field from CAA-accredited program required.
• - State licensure (Speech-Language Pathologist License or Certificate) required.
• - CPR/BLS certification.

• - Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from CAA-accredited program (2-3 years).
• - Minimum 400 supervised clinical hours (325 hours during graduate program).
• - Pass Praxis examination for SLP (score 162 minimum for ASHA).
• - Complete Clinical Fellowship Year (36 weeks minimum, 1,260 hours).
• - Pass state licensure examination.
