Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity Technology
The School of Computing at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks a full-time 9-month tenure‑track Assistant Professor in the area of Cybersecurity Technology, starting August 11, 2026.

Examples of DutiesThe selected candidate will design and teach Cybersecurity Technology related courses and participate in activities that support the school’s mission of teaching, research, and service. The candidate will have the opportunity to direct graduate student research in Cybersecurity related areas.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:- Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field. ABD applicants will be considered if all requirements for the PhD will be completed by August 11, 2026. If all requirements are not completed by this date, a term, non-tenure track appointment at a reduced rate of pay may be offered in accordance with university policy.
- Teaching competency for Cybersecurity Technology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Evidence of high quality ongoing and future research.
- Support and positively contribute to SIU's mission of student success and retention through actions and responsibilities within this role.
- Demonstrated success in designing and teaching Cybersecurity courses in academia or industry.
