Program Coordinator

Description

The School of Education is seeking a coordinator for the Grow Your Own program. This position works as an institutional representative or a field representative for Southern Illinois University, with focus on program stabilization and expansion. This position will work with the designated program/student advisor to develop student-friendly rapport with prospective and admitted students to cultivate relationships, share information on admission and registration requirements, and to present the many attributes of quality off-campus programs: assist program / student advisor and GYO team in developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies that increase enrollment and diversity: plan, coordinate, and analyze marketing advertising at off-campus locations.

• Oversight of off-campus GYO program and staff to create and maintain a positive and supportive environment for the off-campusstudent that is reflective of the Carbondale campus environment.
  
  Position will work with the designated program/student advisor todevelop student-friendly rapport with prospective and admittedstudents to cultivate relationships, share information on admission and registration requirements, and to present the many attributesof quality off-campus programs.
• Assist program/student advisor and GYO team in developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies that increaseenrollment and diversity; plan, coordinate, and analyze marketingadvertising at off-campus locations, on website, and surrounding communities for the GYO program.
• Follow-up with students through informal/formal feedback to ensureall needs are addressed in a timely fashion, to develop a trustingrelationship with the student, and to ensure that a consistentmessage is being delivered from the GYO off-campus program.
• Prepare and present monthly update reports to the GYO team that include, but are not limited to, challenges faced by candidates and support provided, activities conducted to prepare candidates for teaching, outcome of group meetings, engagement of consortiummembers, improvements made, and other information requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in adult education, higher education,marketing or related field.
• A total of two (2) years (24 months) of combined work experience in the following;
  • Customer Service
  • Leadership or management
  • Training and development
  • Student recruitment and retention focused experience
  • Academic advisement in higher education
  • knowledge of delivery or program development of higher education or military education programs.

Note:

Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.

Illinois Residency Requirement:
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the startdate for this position.
